Surface treatment process of cnc machining hand plate metal - electroplating
Prototype parts electroplating is a kind of metal surface treatment process commonly used in CNC processing, so what is electroplating? Electroplating is a process of plating other metal materials or alloy materials on the surface of the metal using the principle of electrolysis. The goal of electroplating is to coat the material with a metal material coating, adhere a layer of metal film, and affect the surface performance or size of the material. In turn, it plays the role of preventing air oxidation of metal materials (such as rusting), improving the strength, lubricity, wear resistance, high temperature resistance, electrical conductivity, light reflection, etc. of metal materials, and enhancing aesthetics. According to the different coating materials, in actual application, it has different actual effects.
1. The function of electroplating tin and lead enhances the welding efficiency of electric welding. This type of electroplating is quickly replaced by other substitutes, and most of them are now plated with bright tin and matte tin.
2. Electroplating copper is used as a primer to enhance the adhesion efficiency of the electroplating layer and the corrosion resistance efficiency. Its disadvantage is that it is very easy to be oxidized by air. After air oxidation, the patina is no longer conductive, so copper electroplating products must be protected by copper.
3. The function of silver plating is to effectively improve the conductive contact resistance and enhance signal transmission. The efficiency of silver plating is better, but it is very easy to be oxidized by air, and it is also conductive after air oxidation.
4. The function of gold plating is to effectively improve the conductive contact resistance and enhance signal transmission. Gold is the most stable and expensive.
5. Nickel plating is used as a primer or as a surface to enhance the efficiency of corrosion resistance and wear resistance.
6. Palladium-nickel plating is effective to improve the conductive contact resistance, enhance signal transmission, and has higher wear resistance than gold.
In the electroplating process, due to the different material properties of the prototype, there are differences between the plastic prototype and the metal prototype in the process of electroplating. The plastic prototype has strong adsorption and can be directly electroplated on the surface of the prototype. A layer of primer needs to be sprayed before electroplating, so that the actual effect of electroplating will be better, the corrosion resistance time will be longer, and the metal material prototype is not strong in adsorption. If it can be directly electroplated, it is very easy to fall off .
